Introducing Our Keynote Speaker
Mervyn Singer is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at University College London and Director of the Bloomsbury Institute of Intensive Care Medicine. His doctoral work led to the development of the CardioQ esophageal Doppler monitor, now used in more than 30 countries. He leads a 15-member research team focused on sepsis, multi-organ failure, tissue oxygenation, and novel diagnostics and monitoring technologies, with funding from the Wellcome Trust, Medical Research Council, and National Institute for Health and Care Research, among others. He has published extensively in leading journals and has authored and edited major critical care textbooks. Professor Singer lectures internationally, serves as Editor-in-Chief of Intensive Care Medicine Experimental (ICMx), co-chairs the Sepsis Redefinitions Task Force, and maintains an active clinical role in the ICU.
