Diversity Meet the Society Award

This award is designed to encourage highly qualified underrepresented trainees to meet and ultimately join the Shock Society and is open to undergraduate students, graduate/medical students, and postdoctoral fellows who are underrepresented in the populations of Hispanic/Latino, American Indian/Native Alaskan, Black/African American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, or Other Underrepresented Group. This award will provide up to $1,000 to attend the Shock Society Annual Meeting. Abstract submission is not required for this award. Applicants must submit a candidate statement* (1 page), curriculum vitae, and a letter of recommendation (from your supervising principal investigator, departmental chair, or academic advisor) to the [email protected] consideration prior to February 29, 2024. 


*State your career goals, research goals, current research project, and reasons why you are deserving of the award. Please be sure to indicate your level of training (undergrad/grad/postdoc) and which underrepresented group you belong to. If you indicate “Other Underrepresented Group,” please provide an explanation for why belonging to this group makes you underrepresented.

The award will be presented at the 47th Annual Conference on Shock, June 1–4, 2024 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
